In the Billion Oyster Project, middle school students study and conduct field research of New York Harbor and its watershed to support restoration of native oyster habitats. The project is developing and testing a model that integrates curriculum and community enterprise to connect urban students to natural settings.

SciGirls Strategies aims to increase the number of high school girls recruited to and retained in nontraditional, technical STEM pathways. The program provides career and technical education teachers with professional development focused on gender-equitable teaching strategies and role modeling.

STEM Pathways is a collaboration between five Minnesota informal STEM education organizations working with Minneapolis Public Schools. STEM Pathways aims to provide a deliberate and connected series of meaningful in-school and out-of-school STEM learning experiences to strengthen outcomes for students, build the foundation for a local ecosystem of STEM education stakeholders, and create an innovative model that demonstrates how informal STEM education organizations can work together.
